5 Years, 60 winners!

Here we are again on September 1st. 5 years later! And we've given out over $80,000 of grants nationwide, not even including the new OBX spin-off. The years are just flying by. Thank you for continuing to be a part of this generous community of do-gooders. I enjoy every minute of behind-the-scenes making it all work, knowing that you guys will fill the coffers and point me toward some of the best, most interesting, and most deserving nonprofit recipients. Let's keep doing this, shall we??

August 2021 winner A Mother's Rest

Last night we named Charitocracy's 60th monthly winner. Congratulations to A Mother's Rest, nominated by donors Alistair and Rebecca. They are a network of B&Bs offering respite retreats to parents/caregivers of loved ones with disabilities or chronic illness. You can find their website here.

Now you have a week to further sweeten the pot with a special one-time donation of any amount, which we'll add straight to the check we write to A Mother's Rest next week.

So finally check out these two 2-minute videos capturing the magic of A Mother's Rest. Then feel good about your part in our collective $1056+ grant to support their ongoing work.

Have a great September and be sure to log into Charitocracy to update your votes or nominate a new cause!

Shout out to our Board of Directors

Just a quick note of thanks to our board. We had our quarterly meeting last Wednesday, and it was as inspiring as ever. Jessica and I are grateful for the continued dedication of long-time board members David Haas and Mike Andrews, and this year's new addition, Debbie Chu. (You guys are the best!) You can read about them here. They make Charitocracy possible.

Happy 4th of July!

On the Charitocracy OBX blog, I talk about the weekly farmer's market at which I'm spending my Thursdays. I do hype both the OBX and national Charitocracy sites, but the crowd is slightly biased. Anyway, for the rest of you spread out across the country, let me just wish you a happy 4th of July weekend. And know that no matter from where you're traveling in, you're always welcome to drop by the Dowdy Park Farmer's Market in Nags Head, NC on any given Thursday. I can't wait to chat you up!

June 2021 winner Together Rising

Last night we named Charitocracy's 58th monthly winner. Congratulations to Together Rising, nominated by donor bertiebrinkley.
