March 2022 winner International Rescue Committee

Charitocracy's 67th check to March winner International Rescue Committee for $1010

We have good news about March winner International Rescue Committee, right after this quick update...

Our first public event ever!

League of Women Voters of Dare County invited me and Jessica to speak at their monthly luncheon last month at 3 Tequilas in Kill Devil Hills on St. Patrick's Day. What a total blast! We had a lot of laughs telling them how Charitocracy works and about the origins of Charitocracy OBX. Donor (and prolific OBX nominator) John Towler wrote about it for their monthly newsletter. Thanks for the opportunity!

March 2022 winner International Rescue Committee

Last night we named Charitocracy's 67th monthly winner. Congratulations to International Rescue Committee, nominated by donor TdotWING. They help people affected by humanitarian crises to survive, recover and rebuild their lives. You can find their website here.

Now you have a week to further sweeten the pot with a special one-time donation of any amount, which we'll add straight to the check we write to IRC next week. (We received one already, thanks!)

So finally check out this short International Rescue Committee video from Lena in Kyiv honoring the strength of women in Ukraine. Then feel good about your part in our collective $1010+ grant to support IRC's ongoing work.

Have a great April and be sure to log into Charitocracy to update your votes or nominate a new cause!

February 2022 winner We The Protesters

Charitocracy's 66th check to February winner We The Protesters for $1000

We have good news about February winner We The Protesters, right after this quick update...

Charitocracy Boot Camp

Our daughter, Felicity, donated her time and talent to a collection of short training videos we're calling Charitocracy Boot Camp. Each one is super short (about a minute long) and walk you through one aspect of the Charitocracy website, such as voting, nominating, or resetting your password. Enjoy, and maybe learn something new? (Thanks for being awesome, Felicity!)

February 2022 winner We The Protesters

Last night we named Charitocracy's 66th monthly winner. Congratulations to We The Protesters, nominated by donor zardoz. They are a national organization focused, through their Campaign Zero, on ending racism and police violence in the United States. You can find their website here.

Now you have a week to further sweeten the pot with a special one-time donation of any amount, which we'll add straight to the check we write to WTP next week.

So finally check out this 2019 talk by data scientist and activist Samuel Sinyangwe about Campaign Zero and the Police Scorecard. Then feel good about your part in our collective $1000+ grant to support WTP's ongoing work.

Have a great March and be sure to log into Charitocracy to update your votes or nominate a new cause!

Charitocracy's 65th check to January winner League of Women Voters of NC for $1102

We have good news about January winner League of Women Voters of NC, right after this quick update...

Big Thanks to our Board of Directors!

Last week my son and I were caught in some bad weather while traveling overseas, and it caused me to miss the Charitocracy board's annual meeting. We actually meet quarterly, but this is the "big one" each year. So I just wanted to post a big public thank you to the board for being so flexible and understanding. I value your time immensely, so thanks for rallying with a quick reschedule for next week. We'll have a great meeting, as usual, and it'll surely refuel me for another productive 3 months of keeping Charitocracy chugging along. I have a strong feeling big things will happen in 2022! Thanks to our board, and all of you, for being a part of the magic here. ❤️
