Spotlight on Love, Caroline Foundation

Love, Caroline Foundation

Next in our series of posts about Charitocracy nominees, we have Love, Caroline Foundation nominated by donor nutmeg108.

The mission of this foundation is to help families of children with medically complex epilepsy create and preserve memories that will last far beyond a lifetime. To help siblings spend time with each other and just be kids, for parents to reconnect and to leave behind the stress and pressure that everyday life brings when caring for a child with disabilities and complex medical needs. This foundation will strive to provide these families who face financial difficulty with a one-week vacation in order to preserve their family tradition or to start a new tradition.

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. This gives them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

Spotlight on The Edible Schoolyard Project

The Edible Schoolyard Project

Next in our series of posts about Charitocracy nominees, we have The Edible Schoolyard Project nominated by donor brysonfamily.

The mission of the Edible Schoolyard Project is to build and share a national edible education curriculum for pre-kindergarten through high school. We envision gardens and kitchens as interactive classrooms for all academic subjects, and a sustainable, delicious, and free lunch for every student. Integrating this curriculum into schools can transform the health and values of every child in America.
