Spotlight on International Justice Mission

International Justice Mission

Fifth in our series of posts about Charitocracy nominees, we have International Justice Mission nominated by donor Alistair and Rebecca.

IJM is dedicated to ending slavery. We want you to understand what modern-day slavery is, and we want you to help us stop it.

We are a global organization that protects the poor from violence in the developing world.

Our global team includes hundreds of lawyers, investigators, social workers, community activists and other professionals at work through 17 field offices.

For poor people in the developing world, violence is relentless so we’re committed to be even more relentless.

Spotlight on Kids In Need

Kids In Need Foundation

Fourth in our series of posts about Charitocracy nominees, we have Kids In Need Foundation nominated by donor SeattleStrong.

The Kids In Need Foundation’s mission is to ensure that every child is prepared to learn and succeed by providing free school supplies nationally to students most in need.

For the 16 million kids who come from families struggling with extreme poverty, getting school supplies can make all the difference in the world to their future success. How can a kid be expected to succeed in the classroom without the basic tools to learn?

Last year, the Kids In Need Foundation helped 154,000 teachers and 4.8 million students in some of the most challenged communities across the country. In our 20 years, we have distributed nearly $800 million in supplies to kids who would otherwise go without.

Spotlight on Project HALO

Project HALO

Third in our series of posts about Charitocracy nominees, we have Project HALO nominated by donor Tewtone.

Project HALO (Helping Animals Live On) is a non-profit, NO-KILL animal rescue and sanctuary based in Charlotte, N.C. We are a 100% volunteer organization and are funded privately by generous donors.

Project HALO rescues homeless, stray and unwanted dogs and gives them a second chance, providing a safe and loving foster home along with any medical attention they may need while looking for permanent loving homes to adopt them. All of Project HALO’s animals are spayed or neutered and are vet current at the time of their adoption. Further, we provide a home for those animals that are deemed unadoptable so they may live out the rest of their lives in a loving, caring atmosphere.

There are many things that sets Project HALO apart from other organizations. For one, no one is paid a salary through Project HALO so you know that every penny you donate goes to the direct care of the animals.
