We offer an afterschool safe-haven for kids and teens who might otherwise go home to an empty house or neglectful parents.

Mr Kevin Upshur converted his family’s bar into an urban after-school learning center where children can do homework, have a snack, enjoy a safe and nurturing environment. He is raising funds for a new kitchen and bathroom (currently has only one shared bathroom). His goal is $100K, about $48K currently raised.
This is a small, local operation but has apparent success in meeting its goals. As such it may serve as a model that could spread to communities with like circumstances. Here is the story:
