We are dedicated to advancing the separation of religion and government as the only way to ensure freedom of religion.
Long time listener, first time caller, uh nominator. The threats to break down our separation of church and state have become more direct, more overt, and more dangerous this year. AU does the work of tracking these threats, reporting on them, writing position papers and launching (or joining) cases when needed. I’ve supported them for years; they’ve been a watchdog and
They are non-sectarian, non-partisan, have members across the belief spectrum, including non-theists and actually started in the late 1940s from religious folks. This history allows them (IMO) to better bridge some cultural divides than say the FFRF [but I support them too].

Bumping for this month. Given the ongoing right-wing Christian attacks called “Project Blitz” (as written about all over the place, like https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/jun/04/project-blitz-the-legislative-assault-by-christian-nationalists-to-reshape-america ) trying to push a specific set of model bills across the country, it is a very important time to support them.
