Spotlight on nominee Everytown for Gun Safety

Nominee Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund

Next in our series of posts about new Charitocracy nominees, we have nominee Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund, nominated by donor TdotWING. They are moms, dads, students, survivors, educators, gun owners, and concerned citizens working to end gun violence. You can find their web site here.

A few words on Charitocracy

Firstly, for newcomers: here's how it works. Donors pool their monthly contributions, as little as $1. The cause with the most votes each month wins the pot. No matter how much or how little you contribute, each donor at Charitocracy gets one vote. This is where charity meets democracy. So please share this post (see social sharing icons at top of post) and ask your friends to join us and vote! That's how we spread the word and, as a result, grow the monthly pot. The bigger the pot, the bigger our positive impact on the world!

About nominee Everytown for Gun Safety

We’re the largest gun violence prevention organization in America — and we’re winning.

Gun violence touches every town in America. For too long, life-saving laws have been thwarted by the gun lobby and by leaders who refuse to take common-sense steps that will save lives. But something is changing. Nearly 10 million mayors, moms, teachers, survivors, gun owners, students, and everyday Americans have come together to make their own communities safer. Everytown starts with you, and it starts in your neighborhood. By introducing evidence-based solutions in every town, we can end gun violence.

We are a movement of nearly 10 million mayors, teachers, survivors, gun owners, students, and everyday Americans.

Ultimately, our movement exists to end gun violence and save lives.

Thanks to the hard work of our volunteers across the country, we have won unprecedented victories against the gun lobby—at the ballot box, in state legislatures, and in corporate America.

110

Every day, more than 110 Americans are killed with guns.

The Giving Season

Warm wishes to you from Charitocracy this holiday season, and I hope you are able to find some peaceful moments to contemplate all the good you've done this year, not least of which through your donations and influence here. We are making a difference in people's lives, and it feels great. So if it comes up in conversation while gathered with family and friends, tell a loved one about Charitocracy. The more the merrier!

November 2022 winner Street Medicine Institute

Last night we named Charitocracy's 75th monthly winner. Congratulations to Street Medicine Institute nominated by donor cperg814. They facilitate and enhance the direct provision of health care to the unsheltered homeless where they live. You can find their website here.

Now you have a week to further sweeten the pot with a special one-time donation of any amount, which we'll add straight to the check we write to SMI next week. And take a moment to watch this video about who they are and what they do. Then feel good about your part in our collective $1000+ grant to support their ongoing work.

Have a great December, and be sure to log into Charitocracy to update your votes or nominate a new cause! And consider investing in our future by growing our endowment!
