Woodwell Climate Research Center in Woods Hole, MA, is a leading source of climate science that drives the urgent action needed to solve the climate crisis.
An intricate interaction of land, atmosphere, ocean, and ecosystems maintains human life on earth. Research and solutions that reverse global warming, that slow the extinction of diverse species in our food and drug chains, and guide sustainable use of earth’s remaining natural resources is desperately needed.
Woodwell Climate Research Center (WCRC) helps individuals, communities, and nations understand the realities of climate change, recognize the impact it is having everywhere on our planet, and embrace the urgent action needed to safeguard the future of life on Earth. WCRC has ongoing research projects monitoring changes in atmospheric carbon, water cycles, arctic ice, tropical forests, and their likely socioeconomic impacts.
No single idea, organization, or technology is likely to reverse the current destructive trend of global warming and non-sustainable human behavior. But we must accelerate our efforts and start supporting our future!
